Harlequin Wraps...also known as Diamond wraps....is a different way to wrap bicycle handlebars. Personally, I believe this wrap gives your bike a unique edge that is not commonly seen. That is because this wrap is slightly difficult to make and takes a lot of patience (which I personally do not have). Unfortunately, you do not get the comfort that "normal" handlebar (also known as cork tape) wraps provide, because cloth tape is required, but as I have been riding I have noticed that my hands have not been as tightly squeezed around the handlebars when I ride. (this has been noticed by other cyclists who have more experience in cork vs cloth tape)
The beginning of the wrap is the hardest, which is the most important part to ensure the wrap turns out decent. The angle of the two different colors allows the wrap to be completed corrected. This angle took me a while to figure out, but once discovered a miracle occurred and the wrap was able to be completed. Another key point is make sure that the cloth tape is taut when peeling back. After performing the wrap I would suggest to continue the same pattern of the wrap throughout the bends of the handlebars. This will ensure the pattern remains throughout the wrap.
To create the wrap remember to have patience (and two different colors are required). This is an unique wrap to make, and time is in your favor. At the end cut the cloth tape at an angle to go around the bars, which will help to keep the tape flush with the other color.
I am not the best at creating this, but using the links I provided should give you an idea on how to start the wrap.
